What is the truth about poverty in the UK? Forget the stereotypes, the myths and the media hype. This is your chance to hear – and to share – the unadulterated truth about poverty. Members of Poverty Truth Commissions from across the North of England will share their own stories of struggle, hope and challenge, based on their own personal experience. Expect tears, laughter, joy. As the motto of the Poverty Truth Commission goes: Nothing About Us Without Us Is For Us. A conversation facilitated by Niall Cooper, Director of Church Action on Poverty, as part of Greenbelt’s emerging Northern Powerhouse. Contributors will include Jayne, Laura, Kasia, Rachel and Jon, who each have their own distinct and powerful truth about poverty to share from Salford, Wolverhampton and Leeds.
