Might Jesus have been a kind of philosopher – one in the Cynic tradition, even? After all, Jesus didn’t write anything bar a few doodles in the sand, a fact he shares with Socrates, another figure who changed western civilisation. In our syncretistic times, might remembering some of Christianity’s origins be of use?
