The Church of England was transformed by the experience of the English Civil War. After the national trauma of so much horror and bloodshed, the Church of England presented itself as a peace treaty in which those of very different theological temperaments could stay together in one body. The C of E was the original Big Tent. But in the 21st century, this peace treaty seems to be breaking down. Is the Church of England coming to an end?
