Community organising builds the power of civil society in order to create long-term systemic change. It’s what Barack Obama did before he become president but is an often misunderstood and underused methodology. Pete will unpack the work of community organising through the lens of his work with Citizens UK.
Pete Brierley is a community organiser with Citizens UK. He has also worked with Oasis UK, developing young leaders and embedding community projects in the London boroughs of Southwark and Lambeth. He is an experienced youth worker, former church pastor and has just completed his MA in Theology and Politics at Kings College, London.
