The World Wildlife Fund’s Living Planet Index is like the FTSE index for the natural world. In the last 40 years, we have discovered many new species, yet the index has lost 30% of its value. Humans have been responsible for most of that decline. So, can God rely on us to restore paradise?
David Nussbaum is chief executive of the World Wildlife Fund, UK. After studying theology he worked in finance before joining Oxfam as finance director. He has been a director and chair of Traidcraft, and is currently a non-executive director of Low Carbon Accelerator and of the fair trade organisation Shared Interest Society. He sits on the Marks & Spencer Executive Advisory Board on Sustainability, and is the chair of the ACCA’s Global Forum for Sustainability. He is a trustee of Transparency International UK and of the Anabaptist Network.
