John Bell was born within smelling distance of Johnny Walker’s distillery in Kilmarnock and presently lives within smelling distance of Tenant’s Brewery in Glasgow. Despite that, he leads an abstemious life, emulating St. Augustine and St. Francis in his affection for car-driving, mobile phones and spam. The Iona Community employs him as a vagrant.
