In the church there is a tension between those who claim to be ‘biblical’ and those who want to be ‘inclusive’. Drawing on a decade’s research into the use of the Bible under apartheid in South Africa, Richard Burridge challenges this view as a false opposition.
Richard Burridge is the Dean of King’s College London and also a professor of Biblical Interpretation there. He is the author of many books including Imitating Jesus: An Inclusive Approach to New Testament Ethics, and has just been speaking at the Lambeth Conference.
