The Twistettes released their debut Jilt the Jive in 2016. They quickly gained momentum and a reputation for their powerful live sets. Follow-up album A Strange Play was released in 2018 on the back of their trip to Asia. 2020 saw the band pull together the Live at Capture Works album from the depths of lockdown.
In June 2024, The Twistettes released Tory Cunts as a single, followed by a remix album Not All Tory Cunts are Blue in July 2024. The single created a flurry of buzz with reviews from Scotland on Sunday, The Skinny Mag, Loud Women, Louder Than War and New Hell Fire Club.
The band have performed at various venues from the giddy highs of the legendary Glasgow Barrowlands to sweatbox underground secret parties. They are regulars on the UK festival circuit and have toured the UK and East Asia in recent years.
