Stephen Oram writes near-future science fiction novels and short stories, situated at the intersection of messy humans and imperfect technology.
He also works with scientists and technologists, exploring possible outcomes of their research through short stories. This includes several projects for young people with King’s College London.
Alongside his latest short story collection Extracting Humanity and a new volume of applied science fiction, All Tomorrow’s Futures: Fictions That Disrupt, his short stories are published in many anthologies and magazines. These include 2Simple’s Serial Mash for primary schools and the award-winning Best of British Science Fiction 2022.
