Super rare solo set from the lead singer of the punky reggae noise from London.
Formed in a caravan below a motorway in 2014, Smiley & The Underclass are a punky reggae explosion from London. They captured the hearts of the underground with frenetic live shows put together in squats and disused venues across the capital.
Think Bob Dylan meets The Clash and King Tubby in a dark alley. Mind-bending guitars collide with razor-sharp lyrics and crushing basslines to move the mind, soul and body.
Releasing their debut album “Rebels Out There” in 2017 (recorded with Mick Jones of The Clash and UK Reggae pioneer Nick Manasseh), they’ve spent the year touring Japan, Europe and the UK, blitzing every festival you can think of (booked purely through DIY methods and word of mouth). These have included sold out shows in Tokyo and London as well as packed out tents at Shambala and Boomtown Fair to name a few!
Their urgency is real. With social unrest on the cards of the Disunited Kingdom and a growing climate crisis, Smiley & The Underclass provide a perfect soundtrack to these chaotic times. The revolution is here. All you have to do is tune in….
