Selva Romero

Originally from Chile, Selva has travelled all over Latin America researching different music and dance styles and found a love for samba dance whilst visiting Brazil in 1995.

Since then she has been working with different communities teaching, dancing, choreographing and performing at festivals, carnivals and corporate events. Performance highlights include parading in Salvador Carnival, dancing with the London School of Samba at Notting Hill Carnival, The Lord Mayor’s Show and Thames Festival in London and running workshops and leading the procession at Womad Festival.

Selva is passionate about carnival dance and processions and also regularly performs and plays tam in her local samba band.
