Based on a sense of place, Alison’s work documents coastal landscapes, especially Orkney, through painting, drawing, printmaking and textiles.
A painter since the early 1990s, Alison has been engaged in printmaking at Morley College, London for the past five years. During September 2016, she was artist in residence at St Peter’s de Beauvoir Church, Hackney.
Transforming objects found along the shoreline into things of beauty through fine-grained drawings and monoprints, her exhibition demonstrates the value of treasuring the natural world for the common good.
