Rory’s intricate and masterful guitar work and his compelling vocals are reminiscent of two of his biggest inspirations: John Martyn and Nick Drake.
In the opening months of 2011 Rory recorded his debut album ‘Naked Trees’ just weeks before his 21st birthday. By the following year, Rory had gone on to win the Danny Kyle award at Glasgow’s Celtic Connections and shared a bill with Transatlantic Sessions on Mary Ann Kennedy’s late night Radio 3 sessions.
Since then Rory has continued to write and perform his songs, and has had the pleasure of supporting such artists as Michael Marra, Eliza Carthy, Sam Lee, Bella Hardy and Anais Mitchell.
Rory was recently invited by legendary double bassist Danny Thompson to support Richard Thompson at his 75th birthday celebration in London.
