Rensoll (Rachael Ensoll) is a Leeds-based spoken word/visual artist with a flair for illuminating the crevices of human experience – past, present and future.
Beyond exploring her childhood home in the Lake District, there is no doubt that spending 19 out of her 24 years soaking in Greenbelt’s muddy sunshine has affected her wordplay and eclectic career path!
As a Papercraft Illustrator she spends her days getting excited by the limitless worlds created by combining light and shadows, texture and colour. This plus years on the Open Mic circuit has lead to Rensoll becoming passionate about building spaces for people to form connections through creative storytelling. After nurturing ‘Commune’, a community-based multidisciplinary arts collective she is now a Creative-in-resident at Leeds Art University and leads art and poetry workshops that delve into local archives for Explore York NPO.
Be it speaking out in spite of it all, sifting through jargon or simply getting out of bed, Rensoll’s art tackles what inner courage looks like to her as one body in an uncertain world.
