Owned Once More

Rebecca’s exhibition, Owned Once More, consists of a series of miniature oil paintings of unused abandoned sheds that she had a connection with nostalgically. They are all framed and finished with a top coat of resin for preservation. Rebecca hopes that the public will have their own reminiscences or memories regarding sheds, and that conversations and stories will flow.

Rebecca Walsh a contemporary painter whose work is closely linked with nostalgia and her own personal experiences. She mainly produces miniature scale works with oil paint on circular wooden discs around 10cm in diameter. The current theme of her paintings is sheds, usually of the abandoned, disowned or destroyed variation. She enjoys creating dramatic scenes with a powerful impact and producing paintings of a smaller size to draw people into the work. Rebecca gives beauty back to landscapes generally perceived as ugly or unsightly.

Rebecca Walsh will be presenting her exhibition Owned Once More in the Allotment Gallery on Monday 27 August, 1pm – 5pm
