Mukti Mitchell is a sailor, carpenter, director and author on eco-living.
His popularity is for his positive approach, saying that “based on 25 years of lifestyle experiments, not only does reducing your carbon footprint improve your quality of life – genuinely improving your quality of life reduces your carbon footprint!” He is known for walking his talk, not only writing award-winning online carbon footprint calculators, but cutting his own carbon footprint to a third of the national average and running Mitchell & Dickinson, a company which insulates period properties, saving 10,000 tonnes of CO2 to date.
He designed and built an award winning zero-emission micro yacht and sailed around Britain in 2007 to promote low carbon living, endorsed by the Prince of Wales and the Prime Minister, reaching an audience of 10 million. He has won awards in all of the above fields and his book, The Guide to Low Carbon Lifestyles, was distributed to every MP and Lord in the houses of parliament. His no-guilt approach not only empowers you to act, it makes you feel good!
