Matt Sowerby is an 18-year-old spoken word poet and activist.
In the last year he’s been named a National Youth Slam Champion and performed at the Poetry Society and the Houses of Parliament. His work is a mixture of the personal and the political, often protesting on issues Matt feels passionate about, such as mental health and UK poverty. Recently his poem ‘Breadlines’ featured in a nationally touring exhibition managed by the End Hunger UK campaign.
Beyond this he runs poetry workshops and is a member of Dove Cottage Young Poets, a youth poetry training project managed by the Wordsworth Trust.
