Jon Long is a stand up and musical comedian. His cheery and affable stage presence and host of acerbic comedy songs have seen him become a favourite on the London live circuit, performing and hosting at the capital’s most established clubs such as: Angel Comedy, Top Secret, and The Comedy Store, as well as all round the UK and Europe.
Jon has been a frequent visitor to the Edinburgh Fringe, hosting the prestigious AAA Showcase at The Pleasance in 2018, and in 2019 making his critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe solo-show debut with ‘Planet Killing Machine’ produced by Mick Perrin Worldwide.
Following the success of ‘Planet Killing Machine’ Jon developed the show for BBC Radio 4, and on July 1st 2021, ‘Extinction Compendium’ (written and presented by Jon) made its very first broadcast. Jon Holmes of Unusual Productions produced the half hour enviro-comedy, which also featured Biologist Gillian Burke and HDM’s Alasdair Beckett-King.
Jon has since recorded and broadcast 3 further episodes of his enviro comedy for Radio 4, titled ‘Carbon Lifeforms’ with the 4th instalment broadcast on the 17th December 2023 as a Christmas Special. The episodes all feature climate scientist Dr. Tara Shone and were produced by Jon Holmes.
He is currently providing tour support for HDM’s Chris McCausland (Live at the Apollo, Would I lie to you?) and satirical news journalist, Jonathan Pie.
