Godly Play is a Christian movement centred on childhood spirituality.
So it begins with children’s innate sense of the presence of God. It offers Christian language as a support for their ongoing spiritual formation. Teaching a process that aims to promote an inner working model for life-long Christian learning.
The main context for Godly Play is spiritual guidance or mentoring of small groups of children in churches by adults. That said, people are experimenting with its use in other contexts; in schools, after school clubs, with the elderly and those suffering from Dementia; retreats and curacy training, and of course, festivals!
