Catherine Pepinster is a journalist, author and broadcaster. After many years in national newspapers, she was editor of The Tablet, the Catholic weekly, for 13 years. For the past six years she has been writing for a variety of publications including The Times, The Sunday Times, The Daily Telegraph, The Guardian, The Observer, mostly but not always about religions, and also for specialist sites and publication including The Tablet, Catholic Herald, Religion Media Centre and Religion News Service. Catherine has been a contributor to Thought for the Day on BBC Radio 4’s Today programme for 18 years. Her most recent book is Defenders of the Faith – the British Monarchy, Religion and the Next Coronation, published by Hodder and Stoughton, and she is also the author of The Keys and the Kingdom – the British and the papacy from John Paul II to Francis, and Martyrdom – why martyrs still matter. She is also a trustee of Bible Society, National Churches Trust and Kaleidoscope Project.
