Babylon is a show about kings and queens and revolutions. It’s about the things we love, the things we should hold tighter to every day. It’s a show full of folk music, of drinking and dancing, of singing with arms wrapped around strangers shoulders. Come raise a glass with the Flanagan Collective.
The Flanagan Collective was set up in 2010 by Alexander Wright (co artistic director of Belt Up Theatre) quite simply to make things and make things happen. Since then they have produced two critically acclaimed musicals – Some Small Love Story and Beulah – and produced two critically acclaimed solo shows – Githa and The Bridge That Tom Built. They run the unique and boutique Little Festival Of Everything as well as programming work across pubs and non performances spaces. In 2012 they were nominated for an Emerging Company Total Theatre Award.
They have garnered a slew of five-star reviews. The Scotsman says they are “strikingly profound”; Lyn Gardner simply says they are “beautiful”.
