Andrew is a middle-aged, middle class, white Christian man who was brought up not to make a fuss. He is also a storyteller and a Greenbelt regular.
He is a writer, journalist, teacher, broadcaster and provocateur…or as his mother puts it, he can’t hold down a proper job. He used to work for the church. And for the BBC. He has spent the past two years walking with women and men who have been abused in church contexts and is currently working on a doctorate looking at sex robots as an example of the transformation of the body in digital culture. He wrote and produced the Greenbelt Festival Communion services in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and is known to Radio 2 listeners as “The Undercover Theologian”.
With characteristic Wit and Wisdom Andrew will reflect on the power of tiny acts of rebellion, including visiting a mosque, stealing a library, and inviting Tommy Robinson for tea.
Andrew’s book Too Much Information? : Ten Essential Questions for Digital Christians (Canterbury Press) will be launched at Greenbelt.
