Amelia’s five years as Green Party Deputy Leader have seen her work across England and Wales advocating radical Green solutions for the biggest problems facing people and our planet today.
As a core part of the Green Party’s leadership for three General Elections, Amelia has overseen the transition from being a fringe party to a major political force with hundreds of councillors and tens of thousands of members.
Meanwhile the wider Green movement has flourished and the issues have worked their way up the mainstream news agenda. From discussing vegan sausage rolls with Piers Morgan, to talking about flooding on BBC News, Amelia has been at the heart of the Green surge.
She used her media and election platform to help prevent the building of a new motorway in South Wales and lived without using plastic for a month to highlight the issues with zero use plastic in our society.
Since being elected as Deputy Leader at the age of 29, which made her the the youngest person in a leadership role within a UK party, she used this platform to highlight problems affecting young people, from tuition fees to zero hour contracts. As a feminist, Amelia is a leading voice in the campaign to make misogyny a hate crime
She holds a BSc in Environmental Biology and MSc in Environmental Technology.
Amelia believes the greenest option should always be the cheapest and easiest option!
