Britain is not short of comedians, many of whom talk about ethics and politics. But almost all of these comedians are on the Left. James Cary, a comedy writer who is not a Leftie, thinks about why this is and whether it is possible to make jokes from Right without sounding like a jerk.
James Cary is a sitcom writer for BBC TV and radio, including Bluestone 42, which he co-created and wrote with Richard Hurst. He met Richard working on series 1 & 2 of BBC’s Miranda. He also writes for Third Way magazine and his latest book is called Death by Civilisation.
