Tom Hackett was born in Cambridge, England in 1961. He studied Fine Art at Middlesex & Nottingham Trent Universities. He lives and works in Nottingham. His artworks, installations and live actions have been exhibited extensively throughout the UK including major installations at Battersea Arts Centre, London, Aberdeen Art Gallery, RED gallery Hull, 20-21 arts centre, Firstsite Colchester, MAC, Birmingham, Arts University Bournemouth, Pitzhanger Manor Gallery, London, UH, Galleries, Rugby Art Gallery, Oriel Mostyn, Angel Row Gallery, Nottingham, Edinburgh College of Art, Worcester City Art Gallery, and Glynn Vivian Art Gallery, Swansea He also shows internationally, with group exhibitions taking place in Germany, Italy, France, Portugal, Greece, Croatia, Poland, Romania, Ireland, USA and Canada. His work has been covered and reviewed in publications including The Guardian, The Telegraph, Art Review, AN Magazine, Metro Magazine, The Financial Times, Hybrid Magazine, The Independent, Performance Magazine and Sculpture & Installations. His work has been regularly funded by Arts Council England. As well as making art he also lectures and publishes critical reviews on the subject.
