South London artist, songwriter and vocalist Eliza Oakes is carving her name as one of the city’s most exciting young talents.
Having released her self-produced, debut EP An Intuition in 2021, the rising star has now secured support from the PRS’ Women Make Music Fund. With truth and originality at the forefront of her exploration of her vocal and musical identity, she is set to release her second body of work, Weight Of The World later this year. Combining a spectrum of influences along with the eclectic sounds of the city she grew up in, Eliza delivers a unique, soulful offering laced with innate talent and authenticity.
With critical attention already coming from the likes of CLASH Magazine as well as radio support across Worldwide FM, Soho Radio and Hoxton Radio, Eliza’s live performances have seen her at London’s Omeara, Windmill Brixton, Pizza Express Live Soho, selling out her first EP launch gig at Bermondsey Social Club.
Making vocal appearances at Earth Hackney performing with Black Country New Road, further performances as a jazz artist at Ronnie Scott’s, The Jazz Café and Bricklane Jazz Festival continue to showcase Eliza’s remarkable breadth of talent. With her new body of work set for release, the multi-faceted artist looks set to develop her reputation as one of the most naturally gifted new voices in the landscape.
