Our lovely friends at Church House Bookshop/Hymns A&M are back at Greenbelt once again, bringing our pop-up bookshop – g-books – to the festival site. Here’s a guest blog post from them about what to expect this year.
It’s great to be back – and what a line-up! Greenbelt 2022 looks to be a cracker with a fantastic range of writers, speakers, and activists.
g-books will be open all weekend. Visit us for books from all your favourite Greenbelt speakers, resources for your church or study or try something new. We’ll also have a great range of children’s books too.
And don’t forget our summer sale is now live – so you can also find dozens of books at bargain prices – in categories such as travel & pilgrimage, prayer & spirituality, theology, biblical studies and much more. Whilst stocks last.
Meet the author
Speakers from across the festival programme will be popping into g-books over the weekend to sign copies of their books. Don’t miss your favourite author – to find out who is signing when, check the listings outside the g-books tent, listen out for announcements after talks or search for #gbooks on Twitter.
Some highlights
It’s good to welcome back in the field and in person two of Greenbelt’s favourite speakers Brian McLaren and Nadia Bolz-Weber. Brian’s new book Why Do I Stay Christian? will be out just in time for the festival and Nadia’s got a new edition of Cranky, Beautiful Faith. Nadia’s Shameless was our runaway best-seller in 2019.
We can’t wait to listen to Gaia Vince talking about her new book Nomad Century: How to Survive the Climate Upheaval and Paul Mason on How to Stop Fascism. After the madness of the last two years, we need their voices to move forward and make sense of it all. Danny Dorling with Finntopia and Claire Bradbury with Dwellbeing will provide pointers on how to live better together.
We’re looking forward to some great poetry, with familiar names like Poet Laureate Simon Armitage and Rowan Williams but also some new names like Jay Hulme and Pascale Petit.
On the fiction side, watch out for The Gospel of Eve by Rachel Mann, it’s her first novel and you’re in for a treat! Jo Browning Wroe’s A Terrible Kindness is another first novel and a masterpiece, don’t miss out!
After the festival – come in and see us if in London – we are just by Westminster Abbey – directions here – or make sure you follow us via email and social media for alerts on new books, offers and competitions.
See you in the fields!
