We work hard at Greenbelt to keep everything as locally and ethically sourced as we can. This year we’ve gathered a quite eclectic mix of Northamptonshire goods, services and fun for you to enjoy.
The Incredible Bakery from Warkton
They say: “We are gluten free and vegan bakery that provides high quality products for customers. All products are made without the use any of the 14 main allergens. All products are made with natural ingredients without the use of any preservatives, with the minimum amount of salt and sugar. The Incredible Bakery Company is a family run business that employs local people and as much as possible only uses local produce. To reward our employees we have created a scheme where we will transfer 5% of share during 5 years to all employees. The intention is to create an unison body that will always strive to fulfil our mission to create excellent, safe and tasty to products to all. They offer : “a menu that will comprise of houmous, salads and warm breads, with smoothies made from fruits and vegetables.”
Locally sourced comedian James Acaster
Yes, on Monday evening, Geddington born and raised James Acaster returns to Greenbelt to close out the festival and make you laugh. (Pictured.)
Local gin
Never let it be said that we don’t try to serve you all. For our gin lovers we’re selling gin from Warner Edwards, Falls Farm in Harrington. You can discover more about them here.
If vodka is your preferred tipple we will have on site vodka distilled in Brixworth: “English vodka distilled in the rolling countryside using coriander, liquorice, cardamom, orris root and lemon infused with elderflowers handpicked in rural Northamptonshire.”
Local beer once again comes from Pot Belly and Whistling Kite in Kettering, and with cider from Wellingborough’s Saxbys Ciders.
Our milk will be delivered from a local dairy, and sofas sourced from local charity shops
The 24-hour Kindred Cafe and our Rainbow Barrows are run by a local family. Rainbow Wheelbarrows is a family business which was launched because lugging festival equipment and their three children from carpark to campsite was hard work! Rainbow Wheelbarrows now have in excess of 200 wheelbarrows and have helped families attending festivals ranging in size from from Greenbelt to 40,000 plus since 2010. It’s simple: just look for them in the carpark on arrival, pay a deposit and a rainbow barrow is yours by the hour. When you return your barrow your deposit is returned minus the hire cost.

The Kindred 24-Hour Cafe is more than a food outlet. Founded with the aim of creating a festival space where anyone is welcome, they say: “We pride ourselves on providing good quality food and drinks at High Street prices.” The cafe is run by a local family who want to fill the gap in festival food provision – providing all-day breakfasts, light bites and old fashioned favourites. “We prepare food that’s not on the menu elsewhere … like peanut butter salad sandwiches, cut into triangles, with no crusts. We’ve provided shelter in cases of extreme weather and the 24-hour cafe is often used as a meeting point. We have board games to play, sofas to rest on and great tea and cake. We look forward to being back at Greenbelt in the Campsite Hub this year.”
And don’t forget that at the end of the festival any tinned or dried produce left over can be donated to Kettering Food Bank.
