The Cut Ups are a diy, countercultural punkrock band from Exeter, UK.
Rocksound said “while The Cut Ups may be comparable (and more than equal) to a wide range of peers, their instantly identifiable, individualistic and thoroughly brilliant sound is entirely their own” (October 2012).
Kerrang said “The personal and political are perfectly balanced throughout, with tunes about relationships and friendships rubbing shoulders with those about redistribution of wealth and the futility of war. Soulful, passionate and often defiantly upbeat” (November 2012).
We started on December 23rd, 2004, and we’ve made 3 LPs and one split 7” so far – “Paris Street In Ruins” came out in 2006, “The High and Mighty” was released in 2009, as was the split with The Arteries, and “Building Bridges, Starting Here” appeared in 2012.
