Jan Carson is a writer and community arts development officer currently based in Belfast, Northern Ireland.
Jan was a recipient of the Arts Council NI’s Artist’s Career Enhancement Bursary in 2014. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals on both sides of the Atlantic including Banshee, Storm Cellar and the Honest Ulsterman. She has also written two short plays which were produced by Belfast-based theatre companies. In 2014 she collaborated with local musician Hannah McPhillimy to create an EP of songs based on the characters in her first novel, “Malcolm Orange Disappears” which was published by Liberties Press, Dublin on June 2nd 2014. Her short story collection, “Children’s Children” will be published in February 2016.
