Founded in 1898, now in its 120th year, Modern Church is committed to a liberal theology that says that religious thought and practice must develop in the light of new insights.
Its aim is to stop the church from getting stuck. It is reinventing itself for the 21st Century – and it wants to do that, in part, at Greenbelt!
This year Modern Church are helping us to bring Australian cartoonist and mystic Michael Leunig to Greenbelt for the first time, and also, together with Canterbury Press, helping us bring Nadia Bolz-Weber back to the festival.
