Anthony Wilson is a poet, blogger, writing tutor and lecturer.
He has published and performed his poetry widely for over twenty years. Anthony has held writing residencies at The Poetry Society, The Times Educational Supplement, The Poetry Trust, Apples and Snakes and Tate Britain.
His books of poetry are How Far From Here is Home? (Stride, 1996), Nowhere Better Than This (Worple Press, 2002), Full Stretch: Poems 1996-2006 (Worple Press, 2006) and Riddance.
Anthony is also the author of two pamphlets of poetry: The Difference (Aldeburgh Poetry Trust, 1999), and The Year of Drinking Water (Exeter Leukaemia Fund, 2007).
His memoir of cancer, Love for Now (Impress Books), was published in 2012. In 2015 Bloodaxe Books published his anthology Lifesaving Poems, taken from the blog of the same name.
Anthony is the editor of Creativity in Primary Education (Sage, 2015), and co-editor of Making Poetry Matter (Bloomsbury, 2013) and Making Poetry Happen (Bloomsbury, 2015) which was Highly Commended in the 2016 UKLA academic book of the year award.
2019 will see the publication of two new books which he will read from at Greenbelt: Deck Shoes, a book of prose memoir; and The Afterlife, a collection of poetry.
