Greenbelt isn't in the habit of signing up to things, being pinned down. That's part of its genius that some love and others find frustrating! Greenbelt is not a campaigning organisation. It is a Festival. But its mission ("Greenbelt is an independent Christian charity working to express love, creativity and justice in the arts and contemporary culture in the light of the Christian gospel) means that we are committed to seeing justice — as well as creativity — expressed in the arts. So, there are some issues about which we can't remain silent.
The Trade Justice Movement
When it came to the Trade Justice Movement (TJM), Greenbelt took the decision that the issue was so paradigmatic that we had to join the coalition.
Sustainability
Greenbelt is working to minimise its enviromental impact, ensuring its practices are as sustainable as possible. For a Festival that's tough, but something we're committed to.
