14 young people from Alrowwad Centre for Culture & Arts in Aida Camp, Bethlehem, Palestine will be with us all festival as part of a cultural exchange this summer through which they will get to to experience life outside the constraints of their daily lives inside a refugee camp.
Over the weekend they will host daily exchange sessions in our youth venue, the Den as well as leading a Dabke Dance workshop and performing as part of our showcase Cafe Palestinia event on festival Monday.
Alrowwad uses dance, music and film to help young Palestinian refugees to break the cycle of violence and oppression that they experience daily.
As Palestinian refugees, we don’t have the luxury
of despair. We choose Beautiful Resistance.
